We are thrilled to announce the Bike-A-Thon is back for the fourth consecutive year, and this time, we are excited to support 'Wheels for Workers' in Buffalo.

Wheels for Workers (WFW) is an inspiring volunteer organization that refurbishes bicycles for newly arrived refugees, primarily from Ukraine, Syria, and Somalia. These bicycles provide essential transportation for them to commute to work, school, and grocery shopping, empowering them to build better lives in their new home. WFW collects unused bikes and bike parts, performs necessary repairs and servicing to make them functional, and coordinates their distribution to Buffalo's resettling families. In 2022, WFW donated 632 bikes; this year, we aim to help WFW donate 1,000 bikes for 2023.

For this fundraising challenge, DBL Board Member Dan Krassenstein has agreed to take on a biking distance challenge of 1,105 miles from July through October. Dan, an avid NFL fan, plans to rally football team-loving fans in competing cities to "make some noise and raise some funds" to claim bragging rights over their rivals. This distance equals a virtual ride from Wheels For Workers' donation parking lot (St Paul's Church, Buffalo) -> Philadelphia Eagles Lincoln Financial Field -> Cleveland Browns Stadium (Cleveland, OH) -> Buffalo Bills Highmark Stadium (Orchard Park, NY).
